OUR APPROACH

sOMETHING

  • Developing Trust

    • At the heart of disengagement is a lack of trust between families and school personnel, and (re)building that trust is essential for engaging families in the academic lives of their children.

  • Eliminating Fear

    • Trust plays a dominant role in eradicating fear in relationships, as does knowledge and understanding of perspectives.

    • Fear is often masked as anger

  • Underatnding perspectives

TITLE

  • Treat all families and school personnel with respect.

  • Treat all families and school staff as a potential source of valuable expertise.

  • Encourage school staff to take personal responsibility to engage families.

  • Encourage families to take personal responsibility to engage with the school.

  • Encourage everyone to meet active family engagement with enthusiasm.

YOU SHAPE THE CULTURE OR IT SHAPES YOU

Only organizations that are willing to open themselves up to a study of their organizational culture and make modifications necessary to alter that culture will benefit from attempts to create an engage culture.
