2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR PROGRAMS
FAMILY READING EXPERIENCE
The PTA is committed to helping families support their child’s development of literacy skills and encourage a love of reading through access to books, particularly those that reflect the diversity of our world.

The PTA began 2022 by purchasing diverse new books for the EVES Reading Program. Later this year, we will also host Read Across America Week events to promote a love of reading.
REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST
National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
The 2022–2023 Reflections theme is Show Your Voice!
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Afterschool programs (ASP) can support social, emotional, cognitive, and academic development, reduce risky behaviors, promote physical health, and provide a safe and supportive environment for students.
At EVES the PTA hosts three ASP sessions each year, fall, winter, and spring.
While we navigate interest and health concerns, keep an eye out for programming announcements.
HEALTHY LIFESTYLES
Children grow and learn in many ways. It is the shared responsibility of families, schools and communities to develop the “whole child.” This means looking at all aspects of children holistically, from social, emotional and cognitive skills to academic subjects like literacy and math. Together they can ensure that every child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged.
EVES will participate in National Walk to School Day in October 2022.
In April 2023, we expect to complete a school wide Earth Day Project.
STEM
PTA’s vision is that all students have the family and community support needed to access and pursue STEM opportunities and careers. We want to foster passion for science, technology, engineering, and math through fun activities and by involving families in these experiences together.
All of our After School Programming sessions include at least one STEM program. We aim to students in opportunities to explore STEM possibilities.
