Black History Month

Updated: Jan 19, 2022

What do you think our children should understand about African American struggle, achievement, and culture?

African American culture is always evolving, and society continues to struggle to have race conversations. It's a complicated subject. For Black History Month 2022, EVES PTA would like a more modern-day focus, integrating care-giver input about what is important to teach in schools about such a complicated yet crucial subject.

Join our Black History Month Committee and help us choose content and plan activities for the month of February. Let's have a conversation.

Black History Month Committee

Volunteers will brainstorm and achieve consensus about BHM education events and activities. The plan will be approved by the PTA and EVES administration, and executed throughout February. If you are interested in participating in this important role, please email PTA Secretary Colleen Coggins at secretary@evespta.org.
